Sometimes you just need to get out of town, even if it’s just for a night! Zach and I were very busy with work, so we decided to spend the night in Baltimore, Maryland. So on Saturday morning we packed our bags and headed north. The commute from Arlington to Baltimore is surprisingly short, especially on weekends. We reached our destination in just one hour.

Dog Friendly National Park Sites · National Parks Conservation Association

Before we started planning our trip, we consulted with local Charm City experts @ipartywithbrucewayne and @IbelieveinHD. They recommended some great dog activities, but due to time and weather we weren’t able to check them out. I guess that means we have to go back!

Ah, the real reason for this weekend trip. We love exhibitions! This year our schedule only allowed us to attend the Maryland Animal Show. The show was held at the Maryland State Fairgrounds, 15 minutes north of Baltimore.

There Navy visited his good friend @mayathedox @sassywoof on his stand. Navi spent a little on her dad’s credit card and bought two cute Sassy Woof scarves. Our best find at the show was this really cool roller. We’ve seen ads for similar tools, but we’ve never seen one work in real life. Let me tell you, they work and we are officially obsessed

Zack, Navi, and I watched the Dock Dogs race for way too long. Hmmm.. do you think the Navy could be a harbor dog?

Dog Friendly Beaches In The South

Our hotel was only a few blocks from the Inner Harbor, so we were able to take a sunset stroll to capture some of the Navy’s Instagram content and capture all the sights. We passed tons of great restaurants with seasonal patios. I can only imagine how popular these places will be when the weather improves! Luckily for us, the Starbucks on the Inner Harbor patio was open, so we were able to grab a coffee outside and chat with the Navy.

We also couldn’t help but stop at the many shops in the Inner Harbor area. Lululemon on Harbor East is dog friendly. They have a puppy bowl and a water bowl. All the teachers gave so much love and gifts to the Navy.

Tip: Don’t assume a place is dog-friendly just because Google tells you there’s a chain. We always call ahead and ask the manager on site if we can bring our dog into the store. Cocktail hour at the Kimpton Monaco Baltimore

Dog Friendly Vacations Maryland

I love that Kimpton hotels are dog friendly. Our amazing stay at the Navy Kimpton Goodland Santa Barbara is why Zack is a proud IHG Credit Cardholder. Kimpton Hotel has the most pet-friendly packages. However, they can be a bit expensive. We used it

We love being ushered into the nautical lobby to enjoy the Kimpton cocktail hour. After a long day of exploring, it was so nice to sit with the Navy and enjoy a glass of wine and a small snack. Kimpton Monaco also let the Navy sit with us while we enjoyed their complimentary coffee and tea in the morning.

We’ve rounded up the best casual weekend getaways to visit Baltimore. Some restaurants participating in Baltimore Winter Restaurant Week have extended their specials through the weekend. Zach and I visited restaurants in other cities, but Baltimore had the best deals. We decided to dine at Sullivan’s Steakhouse, which has a seasonal dog patio. The patio was apparently closed for the winter, so while we ate dinner, Navi slept soundly and enjoyed her leftover steak.

I love it when hotels have great restaurants. Lucky for us, B&O Restaurant calls the Kimpton Monaco hotel home. After a busy Saturday we decided to stay close by and visited the B&O Restaurant. We don’t like being left alone in the navy room, but we feel much better a few floors down.

Dog Friendly Getaways In Bc

The menu looked amazing and I wanted to try everything, but I settled for eggs and home fries, Zach tried the Chesapeake Omelet, and the table was split between Old Fashioned Donuts.

Even though it was a quick trip, I felt like our weekend was full of great experiences. We definitely plan to come back when the weather is a little warmer when we get back to Baltimore so we can really experience Charm City. Next time in Baltimore!
