I know I mentioned that I travel a lot with my friends (and family). For a while I didn’t have anything important to travel with. However, even if you’re in a relationship (or have kids), I think it’s important to make time for travel and new experiences with your friends! San Diego is a city on the Pacific coast of southern California, just north of the Mexican-American border! It is known for its wide beaches, relaxed attitude and perfect weather throughout the year. I put it in my best places to travel with friends.
There are so many unique neighborhoods in the city of San Diego and San Diego County that no matter how long your trip is, you’ll never run out of things to do! Balboa Park, the San Diego Zoo, Coronado Island, La Jolla seals and sea lions, amazing Little Italy restaurants, and a great local craft industry – everything in between San Diego has a lot to offer!
I recommend spending 4 days in San Diego to enjoy all that this SoCal city has to offer. However, you can spend even more than that, especially in the warmer months, so you can enjoy the beaches of Coronado, La Jolla, Mission Beach, or Pacific Beach!

Vero Beach is my favorite sleepy beach town in Florida. It’s actually my favorite beach town in Florida. This hidden gem is the perfect place to spend a weekend with friends.
It is located on the Atlantic coast of Florida, about 60 miles north of Palm Beach. Vero is definitely one of the least commercialized locations in Florida, but one of the most beautiful. If you want to visit crowded and beautiful beaches, this is the place for you.
I recommend staying at a beach resort like the Costa d’Este Beach Resort or the Kimpton Vero Beach Hotel. I recommend it for a great trip because you don’t need to rent a car. 4 days is the best time to spend here. However, if you fly directly into the Vero Beach airport, you can avoid the long weekend. Breeze Airways now flies there from many locations in the United States, including Westchester Airport.
Savannah, GA is a beautiful southern coastal city. It is famous for its manicured gardens, cobbled boulevards and gardens. Savannah, GA is full of Spanish moss covered trees and antebellum architecture! One of the best tourist destinations in the country. And it definitely deserves the first place in the list of best places to travel with friends.
Chances are you’ll spend most of your trip around the historic district, as the best way to see all that Savannah has to offer is on foot! Savannah has an open container policy, so you can have a drink at one of the many bars or rooftops and get lost in the streets of this charming and historic city!
3 days is the perfect amount of time to explore Savannah, but you could easily spend a few days in the city and then extend your trip to Hilton Head Island or Tybee Island!

The best time of year to visit would definitely be autumn, winter or spring as it can be very hot and humid in the summer and I don’t think you can make the most of it at this time of year! I went the last weekend of February and the temperature was perfect for hiking in a light jacket.

Charleston is a city I can visit again. I’m never sick of it. Also, when someone recommends where to vacation with friends, family, or significant others, Charleston is always the first place I recommend!
It has colorful houses, amazing food, people and rich history. And that makes it one of the most popular tourist destinations in the country, and I don’t see that changing anytime soon! The holy city has plenty of entertainment and attractions. These include historic walking tours, Rainbow Row, Pineapple Fountain and shopping on King Street. And don’t even get me started on the amazing restaurants and bars!

I traveled to Charleston for 3 days. There’s a lot to see in that amount of time, but I really like this city, so I recommend a 4+ day trip!
Like Savannah, I recommend visiting in the fall, winter, or spring. Like most cities in the Southeast, summers in Charleston can be so hot, humid, and muggy that it’s hard to leave! I was there in March, September and October and had a great time for the whole 3 months! I heard that Charleston is magical during the holidays because all the historic homes are decorated, so I added that year to my travel list!

Salem, a historic town on the Massachusetts coast just above Boston, is best known for the witch trials of 1692, where more than 200 people were accused of witchcraft, 19 of whom were executed.

If your group of friends loves scary things and all things Halloween as much as I do, be sure to add Salem to your list of great places to travel with friends! While you’re there, be sure to visit the Seven Room House, the Salem Witch Museum, the Witch’s House, the Salem Witch Trials Memorial, and more! Stay at the Hawthorne Hotel for the ultimate Salem experience.
If you’re a fan of Hocus Pocus, you can visit all the filming locations in town, such as Salem Common, Ropes Mansion (Alice’s house in the movie), Pioneer Village, Maxine and Danny’s house, and the old town hall.
Salem is a great place to visit any time of the year, but the best time is fall – September through November! There is no better time to visit New England than in the fall when the leaves are changing because it is truly magical! Witchtown really comes alive in October and during the Halloween season with a calendar of events like Salem Haunted Happenings.
You can easily cover all of Salem in a weekend and not spend much time on it. Note that if you are planning to visit in October, make sure to book your hotel well in advance (I’m thinking months) as things book up fast. My friends and I went at the end of September to avoid the craziness of Halloween and we still had a great time!

Even though I’m a die-hard New Yorker, I can honestly say that Boston might be my favorite city in the Northeast, and it deserves a spot on my top travel destinations list.
If you don’t know, Boston is located in Massachusetts and is the largest city in the New England region of the country. As I mentioned above, it’s just south of Salem if your group of friends is planning a multi-stop tour of Boston and Salem.
