The Seaton tram traverses the River Ax valley. Many wild animals can be seen in the nature reserve. The narrow tram travels 3.5 km and takes about 30 minutes. Starting from Seaton, you can have lunch at Colyford and explore the small village of Colyton.
The Tramway in Seaton is a great dog friendly place to visit in East Devon. Otherwise you will receive a warm welcome. Your dog may even receive a treat from the force leader. Dogs are allowed on the first floor if accompanied by a dog. Water dishes are provided at all stations. You can book a tram trip online for the whole family.
This secluded garden is set on 13 acres of land near Axminster. It is filled with colorful trees, shrubs, and flowers all year round. Relax in Burrow Farm’s tea room and enjoy the stunning views. Pick up a gift from the store or get a plant from the nursery.
Burrow Farm Gardens is one of my favorite dog friendly attractions in East Devon. It’s the perfect place to enjoy a picnic in the shade of a tree on a hot summer day. It is a remote refuge from the frenzied Jurassic seas.

Discover the Donkey Sanctuary near Sidmouth. Over 500 deer are waiting for you. Each has unique characters and stories.
It is possible to explore and discover the paths leading from the central courtyard to the sea. Information about scenic trails is available at the visitor center. You can navigate the maze. Explore the outdoor playground and spot wildlife at the nature center. Buy snacks from the donkey sanctuary shop and enjoy lunch at a dog-friendly café. After your visit, you can stay in touch via the Donkey Sanctuary webcam.
Well-mannered dogs are welcome at La Casa dei Cervi. When you get to the center, the dogs are standing there. The sanctuary is open to visitors all year round. Admission and parking are free, although donations are welcome.

Otterton Mill still operates and sells its products at the Mill’s Shop, Cafe and Bakery. Otterton Mill allows pets in all outdoor areas. Dog food and water bowls are available at the concession stand. This is one of my favorite dog friendly places in East Devon.

Dog Friendly Beaches South And Southwest Of England
Georgian homes line Sidmouth’s charming waterfront. It has a flat span that runs along the city’s waterfront. This provides a level of accessibility for disabled people and there are plenty of cafes, pubs and restaurants to enjoy. You’ll find a variety of shops along the High Street and winding streets. Many of these stores are independent or chain stores. One of the things I love about Sidmouth is that it is a dog-friendly city. You can find cute dogs in many shops and cafes, and friendly staff will serve you dog biscuits.
Sidmouth Beach is pebbly and has a wide expanse of sand at low tide. The town’s main beach extends east to Chit Rock. To get to the beach, cross the footbridge over the River Sid. Near the village, at the eastern end of the beach, there is a passage that allows boats to reach the sea. Dogs are allowed on this beach all year round.
To the west of Sidmouth is Jacob’s Ladder. This beach is surrounded by red rocks and is secluded. Families can explore the many attractive rock pools on the beach. The name Jacobs Ladder comes from the stairs that descend from the top of the cliff. This beach is accessible by a convenient road from the sea.
Jacobs Ladder Beach is dog friendly. There is a sign 100 meters from the beach saying dogs are allowed. From this moment you can release your dog from the leash. Your dog can enjoy the wide expanse of sand that is exposed during low tide. Kayaks and canoes are available for purchase at the western end of the boardwalk.

On the cliffs above Jacobs Ladder are Connaught Gardens. The beautiful gardens are a great place to sit and enjoy the stunning views of the bay.
The area around Sidmouth contains traces of a Bronze Age settlement. Roman coins have been found on local beaches. Like many villages in the area, Sidmouth was a fishing village featured in the Book of Doom.
By 1200 Sidmouth had expanded into a market town, generating revenue for Abbot Otterton. After Henry VIII destroyed the monasteries, Sidmouth was sold. It changed hands several times. The new owners attempted to build a port and expand it. It did not grow due to lack of shelter from the sea.
In the 1400s, smugglers visited local inns. Jack Rattenbury was a well-known smuggler in the area. He collaborated with the Mutter family of Ladrumbay. Together they hid the swastika in a local cave.

This is a 13 mile round trip trip around Sidmouth. There are signs along the route, which help you discover the local history of the area. You can visit 30 of the region’s most important attractions.
There is a circular walk from Sidmouth to Salcombe Hill. You can see wildlife along the way.
To the east of Sidmouth are Peak Hill and Mutters Moor. This road runs through LadrumBay to Budleigh Salterton.

Western Mouth dog beach is off the beaten track. Follow the road 3/4 mile from Weston Village to the beach.
The high cliffs of lower Dunster protected the coast from the north winds. But the sun’s shadow has disappeared. The beach is not equipped so you will need to bring your own snacks. Don’t forget to bring a travel pet water bottle and dog cooler.
At high tide, the water is deep, and if you swim, you will soon be out of the depth. At low tide, the water on the beach is calmer than the sea and the sandy beach is exposed.
Its coastal location makes it popular with many nature lovers. In the UK, this is one in 19 people. However, families can also enjoy this beach.
