Close to the beautiful town of Kenmare, Oaklane Glamping is the perfect base for exploring the Beara Peninsula and County Kerry. With only two cabins, Oaklane is a peaceful place that offers a chance to escape the busy life and slow down. The cottage has a kitchenette, barbecue, fireplace and wonderful views of Kenmare Bay. Watch the sun set behind MacGillycuddy’s Reeks and settle down by the fire for a peaceful evening in nature.
This modern cottage in north Sligo has stunning views of Ben Wiskin Hill from the large living room windows. You might want to spend the whole day in this stylish house as the view outside constantly changes from the golden rays of the rising sun to the moon shining in the dark night sky.
If you can get away from the cabins and views, you’ll find some of the Wild Atlantic Way’s most beautiful beaches nearby. The lodge is also an ideal base for climbing Ben Bulburn or exploring the Ben Wisking Track, including the famous Gleniff Horseshoe. It should be noted that there is open farmland on the mountain, so please respect the dog-free route.
This great cabin is dog friendly and the owner Kate is very attentive. He provides bowls and blankets for four-legged guests and local delicacies for humans.
Glamping In The Causeway Coast And Glens
Winkle Cottage sits above the bustling seaside town of Portrush and is the perfect base for exploring Northern Ireland’s stunning coastline. With a breezy, modern beach feel, complete with a wood stove, hot tub and dining area, Winkle Cottage is one of our favorite Airbnbs. It was comfortable at night and in the morning the room had natural light. Hosts Sheila and Alex call themselves “high-maintenance travelers,” meaning they’ve thought of everything you need to make your stay memorable. Includes a beautiful welcome basket filled with local delicacies.
Juno loved running around the large escape garden while we watched the sunset over Cape Donegal from the hot tub. The cottage has beautiful views of Skerries Island and is less than 5 minutes from Whiterocks Beach, the majestic Dunluce Castle and the pretty market town of Bushmills (famous for its whiskey driving).
The artist’s studio and adjoining house (suitable for large gatherings) were formerly the home of American artist Frank Russell and have recently been lovingly restored by new owner Julie. Named after the nearby lake, ‘Laharandota’ is the perfect place to enjoy the beauty of West Cork. Nestled in the unspoilt landscape of the southwest coast of the Sheepshead Peninsula, the uninterrupted sea view from the artist’s studio above Dunmanus Bay is breathtaking. The studio apartment is surrounded by a quiet garden with a pool and a babbling stream! Both properties welcome dogs and the gardens are a great place to introduce your pup. Note that many walks in this part of Ireland, including the Sheep’s Head Way and the neighboring Beara Way, do not allow dogs. But we kept Juno on a leash and the locals told us it was fine if the dogs didn’t disturb the local sheep.

We visited Red Bank over the course of three days, stopping at a beautiful beach each night to gaze at the stars around a small fire in the sand and wake up to a pre-sunrise swim to the sound of the ocean. The van comes with most everything you need for the adventure, including a toilet, you just need to pack the puppy and bedding. You will be picked up from Cathal’s cozy traditional cabin in Waterfoot, Colorado. Antrim, they gave us beetroot and spinach from the garden. Cathal and his partner Jules are so warm and welcoming that you won’t be able to resist inviting them on your trip!
Crossing the Atlantic by boat is both romantic and adventurous. Standing at Luna Pier waiting for the ferry to Clare Island was an experience in itself as the sheep arrived at the terminal shortly after the trip left the island. On the other side, Humphrey awaits your arrival at the dock to take you to the lighthouse at the north end of the island.
