Steeped in history and located on the site of Abraham Lincoln’s childhood home, it features more than 10 miles of trails, rolling hills, and two lakes. Dogs love to explore this park with you. You’ll see the Lincoln Boy National Memorial, a pioneer farm, the Lincoln House, the grave of Abraham Lincoln’s mother, and the famous Twelfth Night Trail. Do you want to live all day? You can camp in any park! It is suitable for the place at night.
If the covered bridge brought the famous movie, you know why this Iowa city is a special place to visit. Your dog will enjoy interacting with you at the many locations in this Iowa area. Madison County is a covered bridge city in Iowa. This city has the largest group of covered bridges in the region! Because there are several bridges leading to the dirt road, leave the RV behind the campground while you explore.

In our more than six years of RV travel with animals, I can think of one place that amazes me—a foot in the chalk cones of Kansas. Many travelers do not know about this place, but now the secret is out! Monument Rocks is located in the western part of Gove County, Kansas. This is a huge monolith called the Chalk Pyramids. Dogs are allowed on a lead and you feel like you are in another world. It is truly a once in a lifetime experience.

We are from Florida so we love being at the beach! But after visiting Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore and Brickle and Digby, I now know lake life! Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore features miles of beaches and cliffs above Lake Michigan. As with many areas, dogs are not allowed in some areas, so check with park staff, get a map, or check online. We found that Brickley and Digby have more places to go on the beautiful lake than we thought. However, please note that for safety reasons, dogs are not allowed on the sand dunes.
Your dog will be like Paul Bunyan when you take him to Bemidji, Minnesota! This was a fun place for us on our trip. Check out the giant statues of Paul Bunyan and Babe The Blue Ox for a great photo opportunity. This trail has been on the National Register of Historic Places since 1988. Paul Bunyan and his Blue Ox Babe are on the shores of Lake Bemidji near home. Once you’ve got the best dog photos, visit nearby Itasca State Park. Here you can see the Mississippi River flow, walk and eat!
Indian Cave State Park, named for the park’s large rock cave, borders the Missouri River. Your dog will thank you for taking him camping, eating, and hiking 22 miles! Indian Cave is the main feature of the park and ancient Native American petroglyphs! Remember to keep your dog on a lead and clean up after yourself to keep this beautiful place safe.
We usually like to stay away from the big cities on our RV trips since our dogs are grown. But we found Gateway Arch National Park in Missouri to be the perfect balance between urban and beautiful. Two major landmarks in this 91-acre park will take your breath away. Your dog will enjoy walking the lawns and parks, watching the horses and carriages, and relaxing and eating. Leashed dogs can explore the park and walk the Riverfront Trail.

We loved the street parking and private parking and the friendly staff at Frontier Village checked all our boxes! The first buildings from early North Dakota settlements were brought to this site. Exhibits with antiques and artifacts are a great way to learn about North Dakota and its history. If you’re looking for the world’s greatest souvenir, you’ve found it! Visit this special photo spot near Frontier Village. You can’t resist!
This park is a beautiful haven for flora and fauna, and your dog will love exploring the 100 miles of trails in this national park with you. Why did the Cuyahoga Valley National Park catch my attention? There is a wine shop on the terrace! Yes, a dog-friendly winery! After walking and exploring, sit under the trees at Sarah’s Vineyard with your dog. As with all parks, check national park animal restrictions before visiting.
Custer State Park is a South Dakota state park and wildlife refuge in the Black Mountains of South Dakota. Custer State Park is famous for its wildlife, scenic drives, historic sites, tours and camping. It has been named as one of the World Wildlife Sanctuaries for the wild animals within the park. This park is large and exciting, located only 15 miles from downtown Custer!

For the crust, all the ingredients are mixed and left for an hour in a warm place. The dough is rolled out and spread on a greased or cast iron pizza pan. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Bake the crust for 15 minutes and remove from the oven. Place the cheese and toppings on the crust and spoon over the tomato sauce mixture. Put back in the oven and bake for another 20 minutes before serving the dog.
