For many dogs, a walk on the beach is an unparalleled experience! The cool waves and sea breeze combined with the sun and the mysterious spray of sand can affect your dog as he runs along the golden sand.

At 8km, this hike is doable for most dogs, although the terrain is quite hilly, so you may want to bring a picnic blanket and some snacks for a break halfway through. Dogs must be on a lead in the High Fens, so bring an extended lead to give your canine companion plenty of room to roam the Belgian countryside!
Elsewhere in the High Fens, there are two other dog trails: the Pleasure Tour 18, another 8km trail, and the educational trail (Poleur-Venn), which is much shorter at 3.1km.

Follow the Polly Geraci Trail and connect with the Hassler Trail to return home. The entire circuit will take about 50 minutes and is less than 3 miles.
Where are the best places to hike near Stanford? There are tons of hiking trails near Stanford, but popular trails like the Stanford Dish do not allow dogs (on or off leash).
If you’re near Stanford, you can head to the Pearson-Arastradero Preserve, which is a 7-minute drive from Stanford. The Pearson-Arastradero Reserve is a 1,189-hectare nature reserve that has a variety of habitats, including oak woodlands, grasslands and riparian areas.
