Best Dog Friendly Resorts – Pet friendliness finds a new address – Lemon Tree Hotels by Orica Coorg. Last week we went with our dogs, Raju and Eshu, to Orika Coorg, a luxury pet-friendly resort in Coorg set amidst 45 acres of rainforest and coffee plantations in the Western Ghats. And the dogs were inspired by what they saw and experienced. Huge lawns, lots of space to run and things to do, endless treats and toys, delicious food and comfort food. If only they could write this review, they must have had many interesting experiences, but here are my recent pet parents and travelers at the wonderful pet friendly Coorg Resort, a very pet friendly place. Entertainment near Bangalore. If you want to know more about where to stay with pets in Coorg, bookmark this post.

Let’s start with a little background on how we became new pet parents. A few years ago, when Covid suddenly took over our lives and the first shutdowns began, my husband and I joined a community of pet owners to help feed stray dogs on the streets. And that’s how we found a very cute pack of puppies lost in the park without their mother. They were only a few weeks old and we were taking turns feeding them. It was a lively and playful dog and our friend immediately named him Raju, as it was his favorite dog name.

Raju became mischievous and cunning day by day and soon became a happy but strong alpha. Unfortunately, tragedy struck and when he was six months old, he was beaten by hooligans in the middle of the night and broke his spine. Raju, a super fat boy, was a paraplegic and was in so much pain that most doctors asked him to be put down. Finally, one of them agreed to the surgery and we brought him home, hoping that one day he would be able to walk and run like a normal dog. But two years later, when he stands up and can walk a little, he is still paralyzed and restless, but he runs in a wheelchair, we found him. And Raju is quite a wanderer, who used to go to the beach and forest and now had a great vacation in the mountains. Her younger sister Ayesha was always with her and was chubby and chubby and she started staying with us in the last few months and it was her first trip away from home.

Pet Friendly Poconos Resort

Orika Coorg talks about the friendship of pets. This pet-friendly resort in Coorg currently houses over 95 dogs and cats, including 30 from India. Most pet friendly sports are biased against Indians and favor cute and flexible breeds. They also have many limitations. However, the Orica Korg only had a few of them, and had to keep them out of fences and in pet crates.

As a paraplegic dog, Raju has special needs. Even though we have taken him to boutique properties in Ooty and Bangalore and other pet-friendly places near Bangalore, we were a bit worried if he would be comfortable here. But Orica Korg made sure she felt at home from the start. Pets are our guests is their mantra and they wear their pet friendship on their collars as you can see on the board at the entrance, General Manager Sanjay Pandita greeted us. Having a welcome drink, Raju and Eshu stopped for sweets. We register them as pets with specific details at the time of booking.

The rooms had pet beds, treats and toys and they loved it. Everything is thoughtfully designed with your pet’s safety and comfort in mind. They also had bowls to serve food and water. Dogs will sit with you at certain tables in the restaurant, even if meals are provided.

The staff treated the pets so lovingly that Raju and Ishu felt very comfortable there. They would walk and run with us, roll on the grass, sunbathe, chase goats and ducks, look out over the open green from their balconies and sleep with their heads bowed dreaming of new things.

Ten Of Our Favorite Dog Friendly Hotels And Resorts In California

But Orika in Coorg is not a luxury pet-friendly resort. Spread over 45 acres, the beautifully designed property offers you panoramic views of the Western Ghats rainforest and coffee and spice plantations. Every part of the property tells a story, be it the art installation in the reception or the artisanal driftwood used in some of the furniture. You can go for bird watching, nature walks and plantation tours and even try coffee brewing.

Birds are literally everywhere—in gardens, in plants, and as art in rooms and hallways. I went birding with Ganesh, the resident naturalist who has been a ‘birder of Coorg’ for two decades and a great storyteller. Besides nature walks, ask him to take you for a walk. I did a couple of casual birding sessions in and around the grounds and in an hour we found about 30 species. It was also so therapeutic.

The property has 55 rooms, three of which are specifically for pets and pet parents. It is an ideal holiday destination for families, companies and wedding venues. Along with fine dining and banquet options, you can choose from the multi-cuisine restaurant Mirasa, the elegant bar, Areva, the coffee and wine lounge called Roast & Red, and even the private cabana deck Aura.
