After we confirmed our reservation with the staff there, he put us in the elevator and sent us on our way. The atmosphere was cozy and pleasant until the remaining two tables were filled. Next is the main course. We ordered the spinach and artichoke pizza, seared sea bass and grilled T-bone steak to share. The pizza looked very appealing, but biting into the spinach made me feel like I was eating a box of salt so I could only eat one slice. My husband doesn’t find it as disgusting as I do. The sea bass is firm enough but soft enough to peel easily. However, it ended up being quite an underwhelming dish as it had very little flavor (mostly just butter and salt).
For the steak, we had to choose the spices to go with it, so we used black truffle oil. Of all the meals we had, this was my favorite. The steak was juicy, juicy, seasoned and perfectly medium rare. My husband and I didn’t feel like the black truffle oil added much to the flavor.
Last but not least, dessert. I was intrigued by all the reviews of this 20-layer chocolate cake with pictures, so I ordered it without hesitation. Unfortunately, I didn’t read the description that said peanut butter mascarpone (I really don’t like peanut butter) and the cake ended up being too rich and sweet. I don’t think it helps that it is still very “frozen” and very hard, making it difficult to cut through the layers. When I saw the photos in the previous reviews, I thought the texture of the cake would be a bit moist and flaky. My family agreed that we couldn’t eat it all in there, so we asked the staff to close it for us after a few bites.

The service here is both good and bad in many ways. It was difficult to get the staff’s attention during dinner. Maybe it was because we were seated in a secluded corner of the restaurant, but even so, wouldn’t it be nice if there were staff there to help? There are times when I have to go to the main kitchen because I have to wait too long to be served. But once we got their attention, everyone we interacted with was very helpful and courteous, especially Cheryl, our main desk clerk. He is always ready to answer our requests with a smile (:
As we were about to pay, we were informed that the 10% birthday discount on my Marina Bay Sands membership only applies to the cardholder (ie me, not my dad). Sorry, I should have read the terms and conditions carefully. Amazingly, the manager is still happy to settle the bill to have a 20-layer chocolate cake on the house. My overall rating for the experience is 3 out of 5 stars. The restaurant was really crowded and noisy for a while, affecting the mood and atmosphere of the dinner. Also, it’s hard to get help from staff because hardly anyone passes through our area. The food was hardly impressive and not worth it considering the prices and the only good dish was the perfectly cooked T-bone steak which was full of flavour. I guess you’re basically paying for a nice rooftop view of the city.
